For these reasons, Leica Microsystems new instruments feature a viewing angle of 38° to the horizontal (S4 E, S6 E, S6 T). This ergonomic viewing angle was received from the average height of stereomicroscopes and the most common real-life working distances. An instrument with a 60° viewing angle is advantageous if the stereomicroscope is inclined on a swinging-arm stand or on machines and bonders.
